Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information -- your email address and password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase) when you sign up or log in.
• Profile information -- details you add to your profile, such as your name, avatar, bio, and any social or product links you choose to include.
• Product information -- products you add to OrbitCircles, including product names, descriptions, logos, and website/social links.
• Circle/chat activity -- messages you send in live circles and basic room participation (e.g. which circle you joined and when).
• Follow relationships -- who you follow and who follows you.
• Product interaction data -- views of product pages and clicks on product website links (see “Product and interaction data” below).
• Feedback -- if you choose to submit a bug report, feature request, or general feedback from within OrbitCircles, we store the feedback type, your message, and, as context, the OrbitCircles page you submitted it from.
• Technical/service data -- standard data needed to operate the app, such as request metadata, log data, device/browser information, and approximate connection details. This is collected directly by us and, in the ordinary course of serving web requests, by our hosting provider.

We use the information above to:

• Provide and operate core features -- authentication, live circles, chat, profiles, following, and product discovery.
• Show you basic analytics about your own products (views and website-link clicks).
• Understand and, where appropriate, respond to bug reports, feature requests, and other feedback you submit, and use it to improve OrbitCircles.
• Maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
• Communicate with you about your account or the service when necessary.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your information for advertising.

OrbitCircles is a networking product, so parts of your profile are inherently visible to other users -- for example your name, avatar, bio, social/product links, and the products you've added. Your list of followers/following and your activity inside a live circle (chat messages, presence) are visible to other participants of that circle in real time. Only add information to your profile that you're comfortable other users seeing.

When you add a product, its logo, description, and links are shown to other users through Discover, Following, and your profile. We track basic, aggregate-style analytics for products -- page views and clicks on outbound website/social links -- so that the person who added a product can see how it's performing. This analytics data is tied to the product, not sold to third parties, and is not used to build advertising profiles.

We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run OrbitCircles:

• Supabase -- our backend provider for authentication, database, and file storage (e.g. avatars and product logos).
• Hosting provider -- our hosting infrastructure may process standard technical request and log data (such as IP address and request metadata) in order to serve the app.

These providers process data on our behalf to operate OrbitCircles; we don't share your information with anyone else for their own independent purposes.

We retain account, profile, product, and chat data for as long as your account is active, since it's needed to provide the service (e.g. your profile, products, and follow graph). If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize the personal data associated with it, except where we need to retain limited information for legitimate purposes such as security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures -- including relying on Supabase's authentication and storage infrastructure -- to help protect your information. That said, no online service can guarantee perfect security, and we don't claim end-to-end encryption or any specific security certification. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

You can update most of your profile information (avatar, social links) directly from your account settings. OrbitCircles does not currently have a self-serve account deletion or data-export tool. If you'd like to update information we don't yet let you edit yourself, delete your account, or request a copy of your data, contact us at hello@orbitcircles.com and we'll take care of it.

OrbitCircles is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@orbitcircles.com so we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy as OrbitCircles evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Effective date” above. Continued use of OrbitCircles after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
